What's new in Dollop.

  1. Dollop — the rename

    Rebrand
    • SuperEar is now Dollop. New name, same Mac app — every dictation, meeting, and chat from before carries over.
    • LittleEar (the floating overlay) renamed to Little Overlay. Same ⌃ S shortcut, same screen-aware reading.
    • Bundle identifier changed; macOS will ask once for microphone and accessibility access on the first Dollop launch.
    • New landing page at dollop.co with a single dictation demo and a tighter feature story.
  2. Meeting recording

    New
    • Hit ⌃ R before any class, call, or meeting. Dollop records audio locally and transcribes with Apple Foundation Models.
    • Speaker diarization in the transcript view; action items surface in a sidebar after the call ends.
    • Per-meeting AI chat: ask Dollop about anything from a specific transcript.
    • Recordings live in the Library alongside dictations and chats — one searchable index for everything you say on the Mac.
  3. macOS 14/15 graceful gating

    Fix
    • Apple Intelligence features now gate cleanly on older macOS — the app stays usable in classic Whisper mode if your Mac doesn't support Foundation Models yet.
    • Hidden Debug Console behind a developer toggle (Settings → Advanced → Show debug console).
    • Sparkle update channel switched to stable; betas are opt-in.
  4. AI Mode arrives

    New
    • Full multi-turn AI chat surface in addition to the floating Little Overlay. Model picker supports Apple Foundation Models on-device, plus Claude / Gemini / GPT when you bring a key.
    • New onboarding flow with the Cardo serif type system across the install experience.
    • On-device adapter pipeline added for cleaning up transcripts at the post-processing step.
  5. Apple Foundation Models migration

    Feature
    • Switched the default transcription engine from Whisper to Apple Foundation Models on Apple Silicon.
    • Faster turnaround, lower power draw, and no audio ever leaves the machine.
    • Whisper is still selectable in Settings for users on Intel Macs and older macOS.
  6. Dollop v1 (then SuperEar)

    New
    • Press ⌥ Space, speak, paste — local dictation into any Mac app.
    • Cleaned transcript output (filler removal, punctuation, casing) before the paste.
    • Universal binary, no signup, free to use.
